Carney, that was the forge I remembered fron the Forge Gallery! As a matter of fact I liked it so much I made one very similar, less the bolt handle legs!

Steve, you are correct, the little forge has served me well for many years. I had to break out a new forge for these bigger projects though.

Thanks for all the kind words guys...even you Nick :D

Jeez Carney, somebody needs to buy you one of those plastic kitchen knives before you lose a limb. :p

Cool to see that it's still going strong.

cut all the tendons, ligaments nerves in pink & ring finger. Surgeon put it together & grafted some cadaver nerves. It will be back strong soon;)

Still using it

Looks like your knife is still going strong, looks like a good design for intended purpose But, in MHO no knife that may be used in the back woods in a survival situation should be without a GUARD, for the same reason as in the photo, this could have ment the difference between life or death. Also remember that the best tool for survival is the one that you have on or with you, tools (knives) can get lost, out of packs, watertight bags, or pockets, ask me I lost my Chris Reeves folder yesterday form my waistband while Kayaking on a local creek, loocked the rest of the day for it with no lock. Good Knife had it with me everday for the last foue years, loved it and will start saving for another one, surcure them good Gents.
Also, I agree with Nick, looks like blade not completely hard on cutting edge, but all that can be worked around, would like to know what steel and how it was made.

The edge was re quenched by pmoore O1. tool steel. & the accident was not a ramp or guards fault, pure ignorance on my part. This knife has been used harder than any knife I have ever owned, & it gets tougher & sharper with age

By the way the big one is Gzilla, 1080, 1/4" high flat(smoothed out) for extra chopping weigh,3/8" secondary convex,1/4" thick, 10" of cutting area(past choil ) & larger dropped handle for serious chopping even with a damaged hand;)

And all of this is recovering from a destroyed femur(Titanium Implant)
LORD willing, I am gonna keep choopim till the and. IMports knife are not toys or playthings. I would say if anyone wanted one knife,if they have the skills, Paul makes the most fictional Hard Use knives in the field....
so as not to get folks confused between y'all, which they have,

It sure looks tough and will do the work, good luck with the fingers. Bill

Thank you my friend, hand Dr tomorrow . Since my cage in my broken back in 04, my neuro simulator implant in hip with cables up my spinal column in 05, was recovering good. considering, but destroying my rt(dominant ) femur in wreck Dec 16 2011, in a Real Life survival situation that almost took my life, now learning how to walk again with my built up boot and nerves destroyed to my thigh muscles, then I almost cut all 4 fingers off rt(dominant ) hand, another major surgery that I took light hearted(cut all tendons, ligaments, nerves & arteries to rt ring & pinky finger) 3 1/2hrs long she was able to save my pinky from losing it due to artery , pray for mobility if I can't feel it, & they grafted cadaver nerves into my ring finger so pray for a miracle there also. Tuff doing everything with both your dominant limbs disabled. Really friends, I ask & thank you in advance for prayers

Will send some prayers up for you, this morning. Good luck on your recovery and try to be a little more careful! Prayers coming forth. Bill

Said the prayers for you and lots of other things also, had this strange feeling that I should go look another place on the creek where we stopped and i was out in the water, took a snorkel and mask and a long pole magnet, paddled my Kayak back upstream and looked first place and found nothing, paddled farther up to the small sandbar, got out and into the water, did not see it, put on mask and snorkel and started looking in deeper water, found C.R folder buried about 2/3 of it's lenght in the sandy creek bottom, in about 3 and 1/2 feet of water. What are the chances of that happening without help from above? Praying for you helped me also. Thanks. Bill, Hope all went well with the Doc.
