Found an interesting article on Taboo food and drink and why they are considered taboo.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taboo_food_and_drink

The only thing I would not eat even if my life depended on it is human flesh.
The funny thing is that I once saw an episode of fear factor where a girl ate a chunk of (what she thought and was told was) human flesh. It turned out to be skin taken from a pig. She ate it just to win a show (this is surviving a show, not life and death survival).
PS. I am talking about the humans in the real sense of the word. :D

I would :p if my life depended on it i would for sure!!! :o

I would do anything if my life deepened on it!

She may of been a ZOMBIE!!! :p

I can't say for sure would I or wouldn't eat human flash, and hope that I'll never find myself in situation that I will have to choose.
But I hope that my self preservation instinct is so strong that I would.

And do we get redvine for dark human flesh and white vine for white people?
If so, what kind of survival is it that will allow the choosing of vine???:D:D:D

when people are on the menu they are affectionately called "Long Pig". I can only assume its cause it tastes very similar to the animal. The term for the consumption of Females only is called Gynophasia. (kinda scarry that theres a term for this!)

the main rule on eating human meat is to try to pick a healthy specimin and cook more completely than you would an animal, humans carry more diseases. if a human is taken for food, avoid eating the liver, kidneys, and stay away from the spinal fluid to avoid possible mennigitis and encephilitis. :barf:

Probably the best choice of a meat "donor" would be a young female, in her early 20's. virgin, Nordic Ancestry, from a good christian college, with a little bit more than average meat on her bones. Just interveiw her to get a health background and be sure to invite her to dinner and be sure to really "sell" the honor and importance of being the main course. :D You should have no problem getting your first "dinner Date" ....

for some recipe ideas, consult the "Flight 571 Long Pig Cook Book".

this post has been written in jest and if taken seriously, get some help... :D

PS, i would probably go with a nice, boxed white like Beringers for either. serving suggestion would be bacon wrapped with mashed taters, pork gravy, stuffing, and peas.

...a young suckling one surrounded by roast potatoes.

Seriously, disgust sensitivity – I don't believe I would be uniformly repulsed by all the edible portions. I'm not bothered by much, but I've seen eggs extracted from a big spider that looked rather like frog spawn, and they were eaten raw. I'd have a hard time getting those down regardless how determined I was, and nigh impossible I had harvested them. It's one of the few. By contrast I think there are some human cuts that would elicit much less disgust in me, and I could certainly eat them. But when we move on to conspicuous hominid parts, hands and feet, let alone the head, it gets more murky. Mmm, I'm recalling a mate who fled gagging after finding a pig's tooth in a bowl of brawn. I think if it had fillings he would have turned inside out.

Look up the 'Church of Euthanasia'.
Some parts of it read like a cannibalist cook book.
A warning though - most of it is silly, but some of it is really....bent

Soylant green is people!

Guys this thread is getting creepy. So if you have potatoes and beans, why is it a survival situation.

No meat? Gotta have some meat. Meat and potatoes, side of beans.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm

If I were starving, I would say anything other than big spiders is fair game. I am not eating any spider bigger than a dime, say. And even then, I would have to dry them and crush them and use them as powder to thicken soup or something. And I would probably have to force it down.

Strangely I am not afraid of spiders but I am not eating them unless it's that or die. That spider eggs thing is probably the worst thing I have ever heard.

I'd eat another person if I had to but I wouldn't kill and eat another person unless I had to kill them, for reasons unrelated to hunger. But I've got kind of a short temper and "he's a real prick" is grounds for justifiable homicide in my opinion.

But generally speaking I'd starve to death rather than murder another person just to eat them and survive.

I think people is my absolute threshold for what I could eat. Did it once in college during finals and he wasn't cooked very well and was a little on the fatty side...just a bad experience...
