Had some M4 stock leftover after I profiled out the Lioness and decided to do something with it. Freestyled this one as I went along. I think it came out pretty good.

Ha! There's something that is just so, so awesome about that. I want to call it the Ryback for some reason.

Damn that thing looks mean

I can't wait to see it when it's finished

.20 thick CPM-M4 triple chisel grind. 11 1/2" OAL with a 6 1/2 Blade. Gonna try and heat treat it tomorrow. While I work on the Lioness. Need to get my moneys worth out of that liquid nitrogen before it all evaporates away.

Wow that is so different and beautifully ground!
It must be nice sometimes to just forget designs and patterns and let the steel take you were it wants to go........Fantastic:)

Thanks guys. I really look forward to finishing this one and trying it out for kitchen duties and maybe some 2X4s.

this one looks very cool in person! hopefully you get it complete by tuesday so i can break it in for you. :p

This is what happens when you try to quench a blade out of 1050F temper clamped under pressure for straightening. Kaboom! Lesson learned. Some things just aren't meant to be. But I am now motivated to make another one out of 3V ;)

Damn, sorry to see that Ban. I was getting excited to see you put it through its paces.

I was a bit bummed at first. But I chalk it up as a learning experience and hopefully improve my craft because of it. Mistakes sometimes has a way of driving home a lesson. A 3V version would probably be more ideal for me anyway :)

thanks for sharing, this platform for discussion helps us all.
a true craftsman shares his mistakes and his successes and we all learn.

well done, you show good style.
and i still love my 3v hawkbill, on my belt daily.
