Tachyon news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Danny at 888 Knives R Us got the only 2 existing protos so the one above is very close to actual production - the blood groove.

When I get my office set back up I will get pics of actual production online and more info.

The knives are/will being/be shipped as we get them. Meaning if I only get 10 in I will ship all 10 the next day. Stay tuned :)

BTW,

I will go to Microtech in the next few days and I will get pics of each step of the manufacturing process.

Also the steel is 14-4 CroMolly from Latraube (spelling?). This is identical to 154CM and is already in ALL production Microtech knives.

Many thanks. And I'm very excited by the project. Now the waiting for the Tachyon will be even harder. :D

Do the production handles have the cut outs for the latch? I guess I have a preference for the straight handles of the original proto ...

The proto I have have semicircle grooves to act as latch retainers in the open and closed position, as seen in the scan, so chances are they will be in the production unit as well. I like it as it gives it a more positive grip, and the rounded underbottom of the latch means you won't have to worry about rounding off the cornors of the edge of the handle.
