Happy Thursday!

Out of curiosity, which style do you prefer and why? Do you like taco style up to a certain size for its concealable properties? Do you like the more varied mounting options for pancake?

Confess to me your deepest kydex thoughts...

Personally, I prefer taco because it feels more form fitting and has a smaller profile (both things that I dig).

I prefer pancakes for breakfast and tacos for lunch. ;):D

Seriously, I'm not sure I really have a preference for type of kydex sheath.

I like em both and for certain knives i'll chose one or the other based on the handle. For example a Team Gemini with the top guard...works a lot better with a Taco sheath imo.

If I could only have one, i'd have Pancake.

Taco is the logical way to make a sheath. First of all it is smaller and therefor more comfortable to wear imho.

What mounting options does pancake provide that taco does not? It seems to me using two eyelet grommets and Spyderco G-clip I can mount the sheath any way I want. Even better is the rubber snap loops, those are amazing. So how is pancake better for mounting?

Either way it is made they have to make sure the edge of the knife will sit properly in the seam of the sheath so that way the kydex does not dull the edge of the knife.

Lashing and paracord options. Especially things like slings etc for larger knives/swords

Taco, for most of the reasons stated by Lapedog. Slimmer, more compact style especially...

Ok I guess I could see that for quite abit bigger knives, or swords, but for smaller knives it is not hard to lash a taco sheath and have it hold just as well as a pancake.

Although pancake would be much better for lashing it to a vertically oriented strap.

Pancake for the large blades, Taco for small so I can Piggyback-em!
I did do a Pancake on the LMS just to see how it would work, and it fits just fine too!

Tacos...Seems to be a more efficient, and tidy use of sheath material.

Knives approx 7 inches or less overall I prefer to in-pocket carry, so I like taco for less bulk. Only need the one side of holes for an Ulti Clip. Otherwise pancake for aesthetics and mounting options.

I recently ordered a taco for my AK47, as it’s a slim blade and the pancakes I have seen for that model all appear much wider than I would want for such a slender blade.
