I own a Maxpedition Fatboy and find that I am not a fan of a satchel style bag is not to my liking and just got tossed into my closet and there is stay. But there was a couple features on my Fatboy I really liked and would like to possible have on my next hiking pack. I like the molle system but the part I liked the best was the Velcro on the bag where I could put my hog patches. So I would like to hear everyone's suggestions on the subject and why they chose the bag they did.
Thanks DirtySwine.

I have a tactical tailor 3day pack. It looks just like the eagle ones. It is a super pack w/ molle loops, and compression straps. The lining is optic orange, to aid in visability of the stuff inside. I totally reccomend them..... No velcro for patches, but you can sew a strip on...

TAD gear has some awesome packs too with the requirements you listed...

I've got a maxpedition remora. If you want a small sling style pack, its good.

I use a Fatboy to carry personal items on road trips but yes, I too found it much more efficient to carry something with more capacity.

My EDC pack is a Pygmy Falcon II and If I need more room, I use a Condor II or TAD Fastpack.

The Pygmy Falcon works well in that it has 3 compartments 2 of which have organizers. The MOLLE allows me to add a County Comm pocket organizer to keep pens, notepad and small Inova easily accessible. It also is a practical size so you don't over stuff it with things you probably won't need.

The Condor II and TAD offer all the above plus more carrying capacity for carrying enough stuff and clothes for a weekend trip.

If velcro is that big of an issue, buy some and have someone at a shoe repair place sew it on to a pack of your choice. Yeah, having the velcro strip to display stuff looks pretty cool, I must admit!

I bought this cheapo chinese tacti-bag from Ebay, price was something like ~30 USD. I've used it a couple of times now, and surprisingly it's actually quite good. I use a Maxpedition Jumbo as an EDC bag, and sure the MX quality is way better... but still, concerning the price, I've got no complaints. It even has some velcro on it :)

I am looking into the maxpedition pygamy falcon with mesh side pockets for water bottles(old fashion). Voodoo brand looks good as well for the Money !

I don't do much with velcro. I've got 4 main bags I love depending on the situation.

I have a caribou light messanger bag. (some old thread shows it), a pair of Marmot Higlanders (BEST lumbar support waistbag EVER) with bike rack mounts and shoulder strap.

British surplus shoulder bag. HUGE, but I replaced all the buckles and am getting ready to add interior pockets.

REI mid sized internal frame pack with hydration chamber and pockets on the hipbelt.

I just ordered a Camelbak H.A.W.G. max gear in OD green. Haven't gotten it yet but after reading reviews and things online it looks like its going to fit the bill nicely.
