dericdesmond, can you please tell us more about the Tactical Butter Knife? Tried a search, didn't find anything. Where did it come from, which show? Can you provide other pics, with another blade for scale? What knife is is based on? how thick is it?

Thanks!

It's a custom, one of a kind. Listed on an evil auction site. Blade is 12.75" long, overall of 18.75", roughly .2 thick.

What can I say, I memorized the specs :o

I would enjoy more pictures too :D

Guy, here is the original description

"All right guys here's a one off Busse custom shop knife I had Jerry Busse make for me. Theirs no other's out there, this is a one of a kind! He laughed when I placed the order and said I would end up with a "tactical butter knife" when he was done with it. Overall length is 18.75" and here is the best part it is .200 thick, so this thing is extremely fast for its size. The sheath is from a another knife manufacturer and is made of kydex with a codura belt loop. The only wear is what you see in the pics, on the tip the powder is flaking alittle and on the butt it's kinda thin. The cutting edge is 95% and Flat ground on both sides. Any questions please feel free to ask. In the last pic is the Busse custom shop logo, but my camera sucks.
Any happy bidding and enjoy having something no one else ever will!! This was modeled after the "Mr. Mojo" just on roids."

I will get some comparison shots once the womans family leaves later. It is super fast in hand, very flexy, bites REAL deap, NMFBM aint got nothin on this thing :D

Yep, looked at that one myself on evilbay. I'm looking forward to more pics.

Some crappy indoor/night pics. Will get some butter ones eventually.

Will take some user pics once I get a chance.

Great score Eric however I think something may be wrong with it send it direct to me and I will check it out for you :D:p

Wow! Amazing score for a cool one-off.

It looks like a full height flat ground? More of a bolo style than MoJo, wouldn't you say? The handle mod is interesting, losing the rear talon hole from an E handle. I wonder what the reason was for that by the original owner/designer? Is he active on the forum? It would be great if he could come in and tell us a little more about this great piece of Busse history.

It really makes you wonder about other variants from back in the day, that are squirreled away from public view. Would love to see more of those surface.

I wonder what kind of butter Jerry has that he considers that a butter knife

Oh... nuclear butter, of course. Gotta keep your distance from that radioactive butter, only to eat it shortly after you spread it onto toast.

Now there is one that needs to be brought back into the lineup .

What a find.

Very cool and thank you for sharing the pics

Damn Eric! Killer cool blade you got there.
Thanks Rick, she is my baby. I try and take it with me everywhere I go :D

Amy O, you are such a giver, how about I just send ya this case of coors too :D

It looks like a full height flat ground? (yeppers) More of a bolo style than MoJo, wouldn't you say? (completely agree, wish I had a bolo to compare) The handle mod is interesting, losing the rear talon hole from an E handle. I wonder what the reason was for that by the original owner/designer? (Ive wondered this myself, really enjoy the looks of it though, flows nice) Is he active on the forum? (I do not believe so) It would be great if he could come in and tell us a little more about this great piece of Busse history. (agreed, M67 may be able to say a little more about it as I think he stalked the guy until the auctions end. I am pretty certain the original owner paid over $1200 for it new. Had this month not been so hectic, I would of asked him 20 questions)

It really makes you wonder about other variants from back in the day, that are squirreled away from public view. Would love to see more of those surface(Esp ones with 13''+ blades and stock .20 or less :D)
(also replied in your quote).

I plan to bring it to knob and blade so everyone can handle/swing it  Its very serious, just sinks like no other chopper (minus machete or axe) that Ive ever used.

a slim heavy machete/chopper type blade in that length should have been a standard in the lineup from the beginning

dd, thanks for the answers.

I wonder if Jerry felt it would have been cost prohibitive, ie the selling price would have to be higher than he thought the market could bear? Plus, it would supercede the Mistress as the top of the line up.

just got done having some fun with it and the B11. Prior to owning the BK, my B11 was my go to chopper, well, after comparing the two, there simply is no comparison. My B11 is 3 oz lighter but with the BK, you swing less, and with less effort get more accomplished and thats coming from a novice. The top heavy blade really gets er done. Not sure if I have much use for the B11 any longer  I will add, if the BK had a res-c handle, holy smokin bacon would I die and go to heaven.

A big +1

Sweet score Eric! I'm loving the user pics. I would jump all over a Busse or kin with a similiar profile, length and thickness. Bring it Jerry or Dan! (And the minimuk!)

ETA: just read your post after staring at your user pics and I completely agree that a blade that size and thickness would be PERFECTION with Res-C. I love the flex! I have to exit this thread before I drool all over my desk.
