Tactical enough?

"Animal" Macyoung shows this(the original version) as a carry piece in one of his books on knife fighting.
Kinda makes you rethink what makes a "fighting" knife.

Exactly my thought. :)

Read what the great Fred Perrin says about the Sharpfinger and you'll not look at this ubiquitous knife the same again.

Personally I do not care much for cord wrapped handles , especially those that come that way from the factory , I find that it is very abrasive on the 'ol mitts when long term use is required , but nice job on that cord wrap.
The cool thing is you can always put some nice wood , G10 , micarta scales on that bad boy.

If I were you , and you really like the knife you bought I would look on thebay for a used , American made version, you can usually get them around $30.

I am currently looking for a new knife of the usa brand, I had a few as a kid but have since lost or got rid of them, the g-10 is something I am really looking into also, I have a north american arms 22lr pistol that would look great with some g-10 grips, hell who knows, I had ambitions of being a gunsmith, maybe I will start expanding my desire to kydex, g-10, knives, guns and paracord projects!

and yes I will be studing the duracoat projects as well!

Gut Shizer! We need more people that mod knives.

hmm, I just ordered a rat izula, would that fit into the realm of tactical? maybe I will do a tactical comp between the 2 and see which will win the race! later guys and gals

not trying to dredge up the past but I found an interesting knife, it is made by winchester, this is how tactical looking I think the sharpfinger design is!

this is like a modernized design of an old freind.
to me that screams tactical.

Good looking wrap job.
If you want to make it a little more solid and unable to absorb liquids, do an epoxy soak of the cord. Take some 2 hour epoxy and thin with acetone, then brush it on until it is to the soaked level you want. It makes for a rugged finish, and one that won't absord liquids and allow the steel underneath to be contacted by any corrosive liquids, sweat, even blood if you were using it hunting. Have fun.

I'll be damned, look at all those tactical knives, hmm, what is that on the far left and look at the 4th one over, seems I am not the only person that finds quality and a tactical value in the sharpfinger design!
