Just finished yesterday for a gun show this weekend.

I did the blade in 1095. I used blue and black canvas for the micarta. Flat Black Powder coated to protect it. The knife is 10.5 OAL 4.5 blade. 3/16 thick with convex edge.

Tell me what you think.

The handle looks very comfortable and fitted well; not too sharp but not a slick surface either. I think the jimping, choil, and the lanyard hole are well done too. The full flat ground should make it a good slicer...I think you have a winner

What's the sheat like?

Nice, i think that edge needs to be shiny though!

Thank you for all of your postive comments. I sharpened it after the pic was taken. The edge is very shiny with very sharp edge. I never put the final edge on till I have made the sheath. Learn this after the first dozen finger cuts. :):):)

That looks fantastic!

Shiny blades always look good, but dull finish blades are technically more tactical, as they wouldn't cause a glare and alert anyone you might be trying to rambo... :)

Kirko was more talking about the fact that if you sharpen, then powdercoat, you get a dull edge (edge-radius is increased by at least the thickness of the powdercoat, which is huge compared to a good edge.) I always assume knives in pictures are ready-to-go, so I had the same complaint, but I guess it makes sense to sharpen after making the sheath (but I'd say take the photo after that :p)

nice looking blade but looks a little bit too much like a Chris Reeves pacific to me to be original
