I remember seeing pictures of dive knives that screw into a brass case like this? How common is this design?

I think the Ballistic knife is the height of siliness. Why not just carry a small gun instead for the same weight? It obviouslymust be terrible as a knife. I doubt many people want to do knife tasks with a balistic knife.
