Ive become a huge Spyderco fan over the years. I love my enduras, and delicas. have carried some nice Kershaws. one of my go to folders is the Crkt Hissatsu. My day time work carry is the waved Endura

Now im looking for a new main (large) edc.

Spyderco Military P.S. $155.97 / CPMS30V / 9 1/2" overall / 4.2 ounces
Emerson CQC8 p.s $169.95 / 154 CM / 9.3" Overall / 4.6 oz
TOPS CQT Magnum p.s $134.95 / N690Co / 10" overall / ??

all G10. Im leaning towards the Spyderco, even though i always wanted an emerson

either. ive had both, prefer the emerson.

and you can probably get the military for about $25 cheaper.

if there is one thing i have learned, its if you have always wanted something, then go for that one. because you'll probably end up questioning yourself later on or just end up getting it anyways.

i like the emerson as well.

Carried a commander for a long time, carry a millie now and probably won't change until I can get a custom built to my specs.

The tops thunder hawke is a nice frame lock I just don't like the clip, it rides too low for my tastes.

The millie and cqc-8 are both solid choices, having owned both, i can say with all certainty that they are both excellent knives:thumbup: there are some differences though...i feel the emerson has a stronger blade than the millie, but the millie is a much better slicer due to its thinner edge, which can get  sharp, but the tip is not a strong as the cqc-8...i also find the ergos on both to be absolutely awesome. the emerson is heavier. they both have excellent liner locks, which i trust not to fail. the pocket clips on both are awesome, but i perfer tip up carry which the millie does not accommodate, the cqc-8 also has the outstanding wave feature which i love...

but if youve always wanted an emerson, i would go for that for sure:D

I had the mili awesome knife. I traded it for Emerson, something about the ergoes of the mili wasn't my cup if tea. I felt that the mili while excellent in its intended grip, it is very restrictive for me in the other grips. I'm used to reversed blade inward grip, and the military was not meant for that.

Now I know I'm not gonna be fighting with it, but still something about it was making me uncomfortable, so I went with CQC-10.

But now I'm hunting for a mili again. Because it is just an awesome blade, that disappears in your pocket.

But your question was tactical...I don't think military is a tactical blade, its a good knife, but in IMHO there is nothing tactical about it except the name. You'd probably like Emerson more.

Both great choices. I have a CQC-8 (SF PE Wave) and it is a very, very nice knife.

The millie is next on my list, though!

I carry a paramilitary and love it, I would spring for the military. I just want a sprint run a couple years ago in green g10 with D2. I am not asking for much....

Millie VS CQC-8 is a tough choice! Two of the greatest production folders ever. As a pure fighting knife, the 8 is hard to beat, especially now that it has a swedge. The Millie is ideal for EDC and general utility due to its light weight and excellent slicing abilities although the 8 is no slouch in this department either. Either one will do you proud.

Just make sure you get the new stonewashed finish if you go with the 8. The older finish isnt nearly as nice and is not swedged.

I'd buy the military :thumbup::D:thumbup:

I would also pick the millie.
You are a spyderco lover and don't have one yet so you should get it:D.
Big, sharp, lightweight and great ergonomics:thumbup:.

Looked at an ebay shop that sold the orange for 100 dollars.

if you're used to the wave feature, then the emerson is the natural choice. i hate going back to non waved knives. my daily carry is a waved endura now and my next knife is definitely going to be an emerson.

For EDC the Mili is hard to beat. If you have handled it you already know how lightweight and slim it carries for such a large knife. I would make the decision based on handle "feel" and ergos. Have you gotten your hands on both?

It is a suprisigly large yet light knife that carries very well.

The word I like to use is SLICK
