Tactical Folder Recommendations?

You might want to check out the Kershaw Junkyard Dog II. It's a BIG knife, but very well-balanced and EXTREMELY well-made- you can get the regular version for around $40.00 and the composite blade version for about $60.00. It seems to me it's every bit as well designed and finished as the Zero Tolerances(also made by Kai/Kershaw) but a good bit less expensive.

Also has "flipper" opening system AND is made in U.S.A!

I give you the CRKT Folding Hissatsu. About $60. Don't let the tip fool you. It is quite rubust. You can get it AO or non-AO. Mine is AO and it opens with authority! Tha handle is nice and big and the texture on it is quite grippy.

Those are pretty slick and I've heard good things about them- they aren't Mainland China-made, are they?

The tri-ad lock on the Recon is worth checking out if you want something to be abused. That design is something to be seen. I have 2 of the Lawman and it's a breath of fresh air for sure. As far as the manix 2, it's one of the best in it's price range IMO. I have 1 in my pocket as we speak.

If it is a 'tactical' folder you want, in the end there can be only one - an Emerson. Edit - Not under a hundred, but worth the delayed gratification.

That CRKT looks pretty sick... I am interested in Emerson's... I have been researching them and I really love the CQC-14 (I know its a smaller blade, but I just love the look) but I cant find one anywhere in stock. Does anyone have any online retailer suggestions?

Thanks!

I might consider getting a Spyderco Police 3 G-10, mainly because of that 4 3/8" blade!

I can help on that. Have a look and don't believe for a second that they aren't a strong build. Full stainless steel liners under the G-10 with a mid-lock, no linerlocks on this bad boy. :)
