Celebrating going orange by putting up this blade for sale. It's going to the "help me afford a new grinder" fund. I'm a hobbyist who's been making blades for about 8 months now, and having a heck of a whirl doing it.

This one is made out of Aldo's 3/16" 1095, professionally heat treated by darrin sanders heat treat service. It is 23.5" OAL, 16.5" blade, which is 2" wide, and fullered. Handle is about 1" wide, with black canvas micarta scales and mosaic pins. It's quite light, especially considering how broad of a blade is, and very fast. POB is 3.25" up from the guard. I don't have any way to measure exact weight, sorry! It also doesn't come with a sheath. I could make a leather one, but I don't feel like my leatherworking skills are quite up to par for a sheath of this size yet, so you're probably better off getting a custom one from one of the leather benders on this forum.

It's got a buffed forge finish on the blade.

Asking (WITHDRAWN while I do a satin finish and get a sheath built) shipped to CONUS. Payment via check or money order, etc, or via AmazonPayments to nicholas.westmiles@gmail.com (free accounts available). Shipping by USPS Priority Mail, insured, with tracking number (I try to support the post office whenever I can).

Thanks for looking!

-edit- The steel thickness is 3/16", not 3/32" as I'd originally posted. Thanks to SkyChi for noticing that.

Dang, CF, opening with a sword. I'm impressed. :)

Thanks Daizee. It's just the one I was most excited to finish up, out of the giant batch of 20 blades I just got back from darrin's heat treat. Which, by the way, is excellent. I spent a good amount of time yesterday beating on a sheet of plywood with that blade, and the edge didn't even notice. I've got a couple hunter/utility types, a couple EDC, a mini-wharnecliffe style, and a few others that will be getting finished up later.

Also, I'm checking with Thrill to see if he'd be interested in/capable of making up some kydex for it. If so, he's welcome to throw down a price in here (or I'll just get it made up in advance if this takes a while to sell). Ditto for Azwelke or Godspeed!, or Skystorm or MWTIC for leather. Having seen their work for Beckers, I'd love to see one of mine in a set of their pants, kydex or moo. I think this one is probably more kydexy, since leather makes me think elegance, and tactical designs aren't often elegant. At least, I'm not sure this one is :)

Hey Nick, that one turned out nice. Glad you're happy with the H/T. You look good in orange by the way.

No paypal, sorry. Only takes getting burned by them once before you start working with their competitors.

Thanks for the good words all. More blades to come!

That is sweet!
I could definitely see a sling style sheath for that, but the cost to make it though would likely be around the same as the sword.

Looking forward to your next blades

Updated width of the blade. It's actually 3/16, not 3/32 like I'd originally posted. Although I will have some 3/32 O1 blades coming. Slicy!

That came out pretty cool, I remember that you were testing one of your designs when we did the Haze/9 passaround but seeing it nice. Definitely a Kydexy rig for this and it can give you alot of options... but I'd need to have it in the shop since it's not flat like a machete.

Just to give some ideas of what can be done and some options I'll include some pics here too.

Really bad photo but this is a Mora 333 Machete pack mounted, the chocolate brown Kydex has a "leatherish" look to it

Keep in mind that these are all 18" so the sheath for this Gladius would be a little shorter but still come up the scales about an inch for retention. Thanks for the mention and it's looking good... especially for your first offering.
