Well guys I need some help, I need to know how to set up a handle down Kydex sheath, where and how they mount on most military attire. if anyone has pictures, or knows of any tutorials, or has just done one of these sheaths, any help is greatly appreciated!!
I hope this is the right place to ask this...I`m sure it is!

Thanks in advance!:D

would this be for one of the Integral Bolster knives like in you tutorial? I hope you can post a pic of it when you get it finised with the sheath and all, i know it would be a great knife for the military type. i have only made a cople kydex sheaths but i think a kydex sheath form fitted to it would hold it very firmly even upside down. are you going to use screws so they can unscrew it to clean it to get out sand and stuff? i did see these preforms for horizontal/vertical carry:

I'm thinking-attach the sheath to Alice Gear or (load bearing) suspenders. Most have an oval loop on each side (left and right), but depending on the torso size of the person wearing them, the knife may ride in the wrong place. I would make some slots in the sheath (upper and lower) and attack two Velcro straps so the person can strap them to the suspender (tightly!) at whatever height they want. I always just used duct tape or electrical tape and it worked fine! Your straps could also be used to attach the sheath to a day pack or back back strap, or even the shoulder area of a life vest. I carry a SOG mini pentagon this way with a leather strap that has velcro glued to it. Go to a website like Brigade Quartermasters and search on Alice Suspenders for a good look at what I'm talking about. Hope this helps.

What Scottang has said is exactly right, always carried mine handle down on, shoot, lemme think, right handed, so on left suspender. Rather than molding kydex loops though for the suspenders, may want to go with some kind of nylon/velcro/paracord strap(ie something adjsutable), as there's variations in if they use standard ALICE gear, or an aftermarket system like those from Blackhawk, and then things such as the foreign web gear setups, and various LBVs(Load Bearing Vests) which would also utilize a blade down carry, but depending on the vest, and where user mounted it, might need something wider or smaller.

Just an idea, was checking out various LBV's/carry systems this past week, and like I know the blackhawk setup one guy had had wider suspenders, which is what brought this to mind.
