Tactical MOLLE packs

Yes , I Agree & we all have diff needs in a pack . I hate shopping for packs.
I did not purchase mine for combat duties. My Army days are gone. Im 6.6' and finding a pack that fits my 23" torso length rather painful.

But it works for me as a 2+ day hiking pack , long range hunting pack, bush bumming & traveling.
I personally find the molle system very handy . I store diff kits in diff US sustainment pouches ( one man tent, bush craft type garb, cooking gear & fishing gear, etc) so depending
on my activity i just hook on the pouch with the kit needed & use the internal for food , sleeping gear & clothing .
It also clinches up very small when almost empty. Though it is heavy.
Its my Ford 'F' truck pack. Excels at not every task but can perform every task i need or want it to.

Exactly why I like the Trizip with the mystery ranch suspension system, I'm tall and its one of the very few that can be adjusted to fit my torso. It has plenty of molle so I can attach a dedicated first aid kit, sustainment pouch and whatever else I need for the specific trip.

I've been hiking and hunting with military assault style packs for a while. And like J man mentioned, I usually have several different load outs in different molle pouches and I just grab what I need for the particular "mission". Most of my experience is with 4000ci ruck packs and larger though. I find they're too large for even a 2 day/night trip. So I'm comfortable loading and carrying that style pack, but I want something smaller that wouldn't be out of place as a day tripper. Ever since my original external frame Kelty, I've been a fan of strapping things to the exterior. External molle pouches and attachments were a natural progression. I love pockets. I don't like the newer internal frame packs with one main streamlined compartment.

I placed an order for a Tri-Zip based on the feedback here. I may even grab a 5.11 Rush 72 and compare the two. Both had all the criteria I was looking for... right down to the moral patch Velcro area.

Hmmm Tri-Zip? Im sure i could justify one more pack or at least make up a reason to justify it .LOL
