Dont forget heat resistant fingers!
Dan your gonna die when I tell you how I work Kydex.
i make a cardboard model of the blade, safer that way.
I measure it out, add 1/2 inch all around for MISTAKES
I put the holes in and bolted it up.
I use my oven for the gross forming. So I heated the Kydex up till it was like a fruit roll up. or til i smell it.
I pulled it from the oven and JAMMED my kukri into it.
Then I slammed it on a thick folded up towel really fast and put all my weight on it with another towel on top.
This is the GROSS heat form process.
i use a Bic for the fine adjustments.
I take it apart and sand or file the edges, sharp kydex can tear you up.
No teklock for me. This is going on my webgear for Field use. At the most a leather frog or some quick clips.
While i am poor, I also do this for that sense of self satisfaction I crave.
