This is the first time I've ever chimed in on this sub-forum. But the topic really caught my eye because I had just read a great article about using a slingshot for use in archery deer hunting. It was in one of my past issues of the BACKWOODSMAN magazines. I don't have that particular issue with me at this time but I'm sure it would be accessible on their website at www.backwoodsmanmag.com
Since I read that article I talked to 2 of my hunting buddies about it and I discovered that there are a lot of tactics that hunters use slingshots for.
I remember when I was a teen ager ( back in the days when the dinosaurs walked the earth
) I had at that time a device called the "Wrist Rocket". And let me tell you if you could hit a rabbit or squirell in a vital area it was just as effective as a .22 cal rifle in many respects. I'll look up that article tonight and see which issue it was in. Also in any of you have any information on slingshot hunting tactics like in old magazine articles or books please post it because this is a subject I would really like to do some checking on.
That guy that wrote that article in BACKWOODSMAN magazine said that tactic aided him in nailing some very big bucks. It makes perfect sense when you want to get an animal to react a certain way. Great Thread!
