I am thinking about making one, and just want to know exactly how crazy this makes me...?

Is it a useable spork, like for eating? Of just as an edged weapon? The one you propose.

I was thinking about a spork with butter knife sharpened edges for cutting most food items.

I wonder if Murray Carter's spoon goes in his mouth or just on his face?

Our family likes to hang spoons from our noses, does that count for anything?

Murray Carter made his infamous shaving spoon specifically for the purpose.

Personally I say just get an LMF titanium spork.

Crazy enough to want to slice your mouth open while you are eating food. I don't know if I'd actually call that crazy or stupid.

"Hey, I'm hungry and I want to disfigure myself in a really terrible way, but I need to save time because the apocolypse just happened and I have to be on the go."

Well worry no more because now you can enjoy your MRE and scar yourself for life with this one time saving utensil. The Slicer Spork! Why carry that cumbersome duo of a knife and spork when you can just combine the two and save time and space? Don't forget about those extra ounces you'll be shaving off as well! When you are on the run from brain eating zombies, and you're hungry, and you just have to make yourself look like the Joker, YOU NEED THE SLICER SPORK!!

That sounds pretty crazy, doesn't it?

Yeah I thinki the lmf ti spork is prettymuch exactly what you want. Im sure that after he was done with the spoons he either dulled them or used them as promo pieces.

I think the crazy thing is that this hasnt been moved to gadgets and gear yet.....

KA BAR Hobo 3-in-1 Utensil Kit?

Personally, I kind of like being able to use fork and knife seperately...

I don't think a sharp spoon is a great idea

You wanna know how I got these Scars?

Light My Fire makes this with their double ended version Spork. The fork end has a dull serrated knife edge. It isn't sharp enough to cut food but does a good job cutting up your mouth.

I've never cut my mouth with my LMF Ti spork and I use it almost daily. It cuts food just fine, as well. The "knife" on the plastic ones kind of sucks on account of how thick the plastic has to be, but the thin Ti makes the table knife portion very functional.

I've been cutting every kind of food on my plate known to man using a dull spoon for almost 3 decades. This is just how I was brought up. It's still habitual now. I still do it unless I'm at a fancy restaurant where I am handed a knife.

It's a solution for a problem that doesn't exist. It's not that hard to cut a steak with a spoon if you don't have a knife.

Only if the spoon is made from thin stock. Some of the heavier silverware sets out there make cutting with the edge of a spoon or fork very difficult. I've been tempted to grind a "blunt" beveled edge onto some of the forks I have so that they cut better.

Oh they'll still cut if thick, but it's a pain comparatively. I mean, for hyperbole's sake, imagine trying to cut a steak with a wooden mixing spoon. That's just gonna' suck. :p

It still sounds like a terrible idea to me. If I have to be careful while eating my food (other than to avoid choking) then I'm eating with the wrong utensil or I'm doing the whole thing wrong. I've cut the insides of my mouth using a plactic spoon that was too sharp on the edges. I can't imagine using a utensil that has a sharp edge on purpose.

I have a couple sets like this and they've always worked fine for me.

Ya I have that set above, I think mine was the boy scout version.

I think the LMF spork isn't really a spork it's a flippable spoon n fork. Plus who wants to put their hand in the part the goes or has just been in your mouth.

I have seen a real titanium spork on think geek, just haven't gotten it.

I agree you can cut most food with the side of most any spoon. I just think a thin but blunt edge spork might cut a filet minon but not a sirloin.

The edge on the LMF spork is not really "sharp" it's just thinner than the rest of the stock so it cuts food better. You don't really have to be any more careful. Perhaps chopsticks are the answer? :p
