Previously I got a MOLLE Gadget Pouch in trade from a member here. I was going to use it for a kit to attach to my BK2's sheath, but something struck me today. I'll use it for a tobacco/pipe pouch. WORKS LIKE A CHARM!

and the matches, lighter, and pipe nail that are in the front pouch

Crappy cell phone pic, but in there is a pouch of cpt black, half a dozen cleaners and my falcon bent stem w/ snifter bowl. it all JUST fits. There is room for another pipe in there as well if i do it right (thinkin a cob of some sort) Plus in the front pocket i put a lighter, some matches and my tamper.

TONS of room left for other stuff...

nice!

A pipe and tobacco are NOT a W&S skill. Please post int he correct forum. Infractions will be issued if this is not adhered to.

If you were born about 200 years ago this would have been a mission critical item for time in the wilderness. We should always look to the past for inspiration on how to survive our present situation:D

I vote that it is fits the spirit of this subforum.

Wow. Sorry about the wrong forum. I just posted in WS+S d/t the pipe smoker thread. Oh well. sorry

Get youself stuck out in the boonies with me, and I run out of pipe tobacco, you're gonna see up close how it is a survival item!:D

Stop. Just stop. W&SS was created to discuss tactics and skills used in a survival situation. We had a whole BIG discussion on this between the mods and the membership. It's at the top of the W&SS Forum. READ IT! I am tired of moving threads because some people think they have to post everything in W&SS because it's their "home".

Pay attention.....think before you post. If you are asking a generic question or posting gear pics just because then the chances are it's going to get moved. I have played nice and just moved the threads but now it seems that I may have to start issuing infractions.

where do you get yoru pipe cleaners from?? i need some.

ya i bought mine at a tobacco shop...but wally world and others have them. prob cheaper too! they are just bj long pipe cleaners. they work ok for the falcon...but i think there are better ones for those pipes..oh well. ill use these up first. Again, sorry to the mods for posting in the wrong forum. didnt know this would ever get this far outta line..

LOL, why is everyone so uptight here about proper thread placement? Is the internet that serious these days?

No one is uptight. If we allow you to post whatever you wanted wherever you wanted then we would have no need for sub-forums...or any forums for that matter. Starting a thread in an incorrect forum shows laziness and a lack of disrespect for the forum and it's mods who have to go around cleaning up the messes. Rules are rules. Follow them. It's really not that hard to do.

That would be a "lack of respect," right?

Times have changed. It used to be that moderators actually enjoyed cleaning up the minor messes like people posting in the wrong place. Not policing flame wars and things like that, but what you are complaining about. You and I have had our time, you can take this for what it's worth. You seem to be pissed off at being a moderator and burned out on it. Been there, done that, life is too short for this crap, even for you.

Be well. :)

Nice use of a gadget pouch!

Prior to the age of Political Correctness, it was nearly universal advice from every camping, hunting, or survival expert that when one finds oneself lost in the woods, the first thing to do was to sit down, relax, and have a smoke. For some this was a cigarette or cigar, for others, it was a pipe. I used to smoke a pipe and have enjoyed many a relaxing bowl on top of some really beautiful mountaintops in the American West. Nowdays, I smoke cigars which are just as enjoyable but not practically carried in a soft case like the one pictured above.

As a side note, I find great humor in seeing the spirit of Captain Herbert Sobel kept alive with such zeal.

Because dehydration is great when you're lost in the woods. Awesome!
Of course they'd all recommend it, because practically every adult male was addicted to nicotine.
As a former smoker, I'll say that if you are a nicotine addict, then the benefit of calming down will likely outweigh the bad effects of the amount of dehydration a bit of tobacco will give.
