Tactile Maverick ... thoughts good or bad?

I have been looking at buying a Tactile Maverick, but I haven't seen one in person and I don't personally know anyone who has owned one yet.

I've searched and read some about the Maverick on here, but my searches aren't bringing up too much detail about people's impressions ... what you like or may not like on these? So I wanted to get some feedback and thoughts from those of you who have owned and had some time using it before I made a purchase.

Thanks in advance for sharing any thoughts and your experiences with the Tactile Maverick.

Beautiful "less is more" design. A proper 3.5" blade. Crossbar lock.

It's near perfect for my taste (which is rare, I dislike most folder designs). It could only be improved with a deep carry clip! If I had that kind of dosh to throw around it would be one of the few newer designs that I would consider :)

I have had two and they are a fantastic knife, I should have never gotten rid of my Ti version. My G10 version is a keeper for sure. They are light and very slicey, with a great lock and excellent fit and finish. It also doesn't hurt that they are a great company to support with an excellent ethos.

These thoughts are inline with the reasons it appeals to me. It's a simple design with a useful blade and it looks easy to carry. I really like the visual appearance a lot and the materials are a draw also.

Do they lock up solid with no blade play? And is there anything you would consider a negative about them?

My example locks up solid with no blade play. It has very smooth action. The only negative would be no deep carry clip, but I wouldn't be surprised if Casey or MXG doesn't develop some aftermarket options as they gain in popularity.

I see a fair amount of used ones on the secondary market, I have been eyeing this model and the Rockwall as well. They sure have an elegant styling.

If you like slip joints, the Bexar is phenomenal! Personally, the Rockwall was a little small for me, though the knife was built very well. I wouldn't mind to check out a flipper version or one of the larger ones as I only had the original.

This is great information, I will keep this in mind and I hope this provides value to the OP as well. They seem like a great overall company. I will check out the flipper and the bexar.

Maverick for the win. Adjustable spring tension is genius.

Smooth on washers, great action, nice and slicey. Contoured and textured just right. Disappears in the pocket.

Clip works well but looks a little boring. Like the studs but would like to see a little texture around the edges. That's about all I have for cons.

I was looking closer at them and it looks like the clip doesn't sit tight against the scales ... does it have good pocket retention still?

Tactile did a Bladeshow special a couple years ago. Almost picked one up and still kinda regret not doing so.
