Tactile Maverick ... thoughts good or bad?

They had some quirks early on, but man they learned to make knives very quickly. Underrated company. Finely milled titanium handles, good axis lock. Magna cut. Custom pivot hardware. All for $350 is pretty crazy. Benchmade would make you get financing for this stat line. I suggest anyone who hasn't, check these guys out. I went out of my usual types to support the Rockwall and it was great. Need to grab a Maverick myself. They're probably the closest US company to WE or Reate when it comes to modern mass production. Maybe KAI just chooses not to make that stuff.

EDIT: Just did a little personal window shopping. Looks like you can get a 3.5" G10 Maverick in 63-64rc Magnacut for $280. That's pretty damn tough to beat...

I went ahead and ordered one. I don't think I'd ever stop wondering until I get one in my hand and see for myself. If it looks as good in person and is as lightweight and smooth as most say it is I can't see it not getting carry time.

It was delivered Friday and I'll be home to open it tomorrow. 🤞

I started with a micarta version and if it checks all the boxes I may try a Ti version.

I have been looking at buying a Tactile Maverick, but I haven't seen one in person and I don't personally know anyone who has owned one yet.

I've searched and read some about the Maverick on here, but my searches aren't bringing up too much detail about people's impressions ... what you like or may not like on these? So I wanted to get some feedback and thoughts from those of you who have owned and had some time using it before I made a purchase.

Thanks in advance for sharing any thoughts and your experiences with the Tactile Maverick.
I’ve owned a Tactile Maverick for about a year now, and it’s been a solid performer. The build quality is excellent, and the action is smooth right out of the box. The blade shape is versatile for everyday tasks, and the handle is comfortable even during extended use.

The only minor drawback I’ve noticed is the pocket clip - it’s functional but a bit stiff initially. Some users polish the washers or adjust the pivot to tailor the action, but mine worked perfectly without tweaks.

If you prioritize fidget-friendly mechanics and clean design, it’s a great choice. For harder use, you might prefer something thicker, but for EDC, it’s hard to beat. Happy to answer specific questions if you have any!

anyone have any size comparisons to common owned knives? Google didnt show me anything. thanks.

I receieved the Maverick Friday and was home to open it Monday. I had ordered a set of blue canvas micarta scales from RGT and put those on and in my pocket it went.

It's probably the lightest knife of it's size that I've ever owned. After a few days I'll say that so far I like it. Smooth action, blade was sharp, and it was centered perfectly out of the box and it centered perfectly after disassembly and installing new scales and reassembly. I'm not one to fidget with my knives, but it's very smooth. I'll see how it ages.
