Anybody have one of these? Was offered one in a trade and trying to decide how I feel. It is the MK4 "Special Edition" with hand-ground blade. Just seeking any feedback on it, as it's not really my style. I usually prefer thin-ground gentleman's type folders, but for some reason I might go with this. Just wanted a bit of intel first. Thanks!

If it were me, I would go for it. I happen to LOVE those knives. I wish I had one.

I've only handled them at the shop thanks to my friend Jason who heads the Edged Weapons Division at TAD. I was fortunate to follow the various production iterations. It's somewhere to me between a Strider SnG CC and the Strider PT CC. A little slimmer in the hand and it feels great in the hand. I've always wanted one, but would really like to know who is making them should any warranty issues arise. Great knife though. I'll own one someday, preferably one of the collaboration Dauntless'.

Love mine. Perfect carry size. The blade's cutting edge isn't long due to the finger chili, but it feels good in most grips and opens very smoothly. Mine has a soft detent, and I have no trouble with either a thumb flick or even a middle-finger flick. I can't swear to it, but I think the detent ball on mine has been machined flat very slightly for easy deployment. Not really a thumb stud fan, but this one opens easily.

Great build quality, surgical sharp, perfect ergos for any grip except pikal and the annoying choil really does help when choking up for precise cuts. Very smooth action with solid lock up. Mine is the MK4 with carbon fiber BTW.

Yes, I read up on the OEM issue. Very odd that they won't disclose who makes the knife and read a lot of negative feedback about the "warranty" (that apparently isn't really a warranty since they won't replace parts or service the knife.)

The poor warranty service is enough to cancel out any marketing benefit from keeping the OEM "mysterious." There aren't even that many shops who could be making it... probably either Millit or Three Rivers Manufacturing. Both of them are great shops, so I'm sure the knife is made well.
