TAD Gear, tremendous rip off?

TAD gear makes top of the line stuff. I'd say it's as good as Maxpedition, not as good as Kifaru or Tactical Tailor.

I know guys that won't spend their money wisely, and buy cheap-arsed airsoft crap, and then bitch because they have a blowout. Save up and get the good stuff.

Like my Kifaru stuff, yeah it cost a lot, but I'll never have to replace it, and that has an economy of its own.
 
To me their whole business model is seriously flawed. I understand the limited availabilty of hand made stuff, but clothes and packs? There's so many companies that make great stuff that uderstand supply and demand that I fail to see how TAD even stay in business.

They have a large following of loyal customers. Also, by making limited-edition products they don't have to worry about having extra inventory and it always keeps high hype levels and customers begging for new products.

Frankly, it's a rather brilliant strategy. If they were to have an unlimited stock of products, they wouldn't be able to produce new models and then customers would get bored with TAD and find a new company. Also, they only have a handful of employees so operational costs are probably relatively low.
