Tag Along With a Gnome Day - AKA How They Are Made!

In the pic where you have the sheaths all glued up, I noticed that your belt loops aren't stitched yet. How do you get them stitched after that?
You can see in CowboyStyle's photo above how he does it.

Very awesome post, you have a great looking shop, love how organized it is and I bet it smells like heaven. Outside of cooking bacon, fresh leather is one of my most favorite smells. :D
I often think of clean up as the meditation part of the process... once everything is cleaned up and organized again I can think again. Can't wait to get one of your sheaths one day, very impressive!

Thanks for the kind words guys, The job is alot of fun. Being able to build whatever you or someone else can daydream up is pretty rewarding.

One Brute, Yes for now. I'm holding out for an Effingham one but they very seldom make an appearance.

Beautiful work.

Need me a sheath for my old Camillus BK7. I'll be hitting you up after I find employment here.

That is awsome!! I wish I had time and a place to do that. Will that wonder press do roll eyelets?

Sky that was truly an amazing journey. I know how hard you work to make quality sheaths and you have my deepest respect. Although I have never ordered from you, after this, I will. Just need the cash first and I need to time to figure out which one I would get first (my other BKs would be so jealous, LOL.)

By the way...the peg board full of BKs was the best BK knife pr0n I've ever seen!!!

It's cool to see how the process works! Obsvoiusly alot of science as well as art and hard work goes into what you do and the quality speaks for itself!

Awesome stuff! Love that Gemini as well!

Wow! proper shop you got there Sky! And to all you guys that are on the fence about who to make your next sheath, Sky is your man! Because he "is" the man... Yea I have a degree in asskissing :D

I envy you... Cool thread though, nice to see how their made.

I'm very happy I ordered one of your sheaths for my recently completed and customized BK-7. The 7 will have an exquisite home.

Awesome Pics, I don't think most people realize the process and work involved when making quality stuff. Thanks for showing it. I just ordered a crossdraw for my 16, cant wait :)

Nice shop! So much cleaner than mine... I need to fix my dust collection system. Darn steel dust (in spark form) burnt right through the collection bag, so I need a workaround. I agree with you about that cement being a real pain to get off.
