Tai's E-nep's are his interpretation of a historical utility knife made in Thailand. (? Correct me if I got that wrong.)

This smaller versioin is what he calls his 'EDC-nep'. I'd been excited about the recurve fanciness of Tai's E-neps since he started them bringing them to our attention about three years ago. I kept it on the back burner for years and then spotted an opportunity from Dave at NordicKnives.com, for this particular one.

It was already a 'user' and had some sharpening marks on it and a nick on the handle. A call to Tai and with his approval, I was ready to hire him to give it a go-over. And that he did. As good as new. So sharp, it's ready to split a toad. (An old Tai Goo reference ;))

Let's look:

I already own another of Tai's presentation fighters, and I love his hikot scabbard treatment and braided sling. VERY handcrafted and articulate.

I figured out how to adjust and route the sling after I shot it. :rolleyes:

Here's how it fits inside:

A couple of close detail shots with his mark:

A worthy addition to my own collection, and quite a juxtaposition to my taste in CLACKERS. :D

Awesome shots of an awesome little knife. It's good to see some nice hi-res pics of Tai's work once in a while. Tai takes nice photos but I think his camera is stuck in 320x240. ;) :D

Just to add a comment here Jim, I have never seen a sharper edge on a knife than Tai can produce. I recall seeing him split one of his hairs into 4 strands. He does have thick hair though. He is a true Master of his craft.

I'm a huge fan of Tai's toad splitters!
I have three and I use all of them.
This one;

is my favourite and comes with me pretty much any time I'm in the bush, in places like this;

my backyard:)

Very nice Coop. I've always liked Tai's open scabbard / sling combos.
