TAK 1 touch up

Did a little touch up on my old TAK 1.

That looks great! I like the satin blade more than the coated one... As long as it is D2 you won't need to worry much about rusting. The filework on the handles will surely help knife retention.
How did you get the coating off? Sanding? Paint remover?

Thanks Mikel,
I removed the coating with a polishing brush and pumice.
It's 1095 steel, but shows no problems with rust.

I don't expect much rust, as long as the blade is cleaned after use. It probably gets some patina over time, but that just adds character to the knife.

what did you do to the micarta handle? dremmel bit? i thought i liked the black on my rat-5 but it gets marked up so easy i might have to strip her down.
