Take A Big Dog for Camping/Survival

Hey CW4, send me your dog,he's not safe with you . You expect him to take on a black bear in order to save you, yet you would kill and eat him when the groceries get low?

I've done some work on livestock farm for a lady who has a male and female Great Pyrenees. They're huge, and very mellow dogs. She said they're pretty scary when they attack coyotes though.
I prefer a Doberman for a house dog since they don't have a mess of fur but there are a lot of breeds that are better for cold weather. Our Dobie gets to wear a "coat" when in below freezing temps for extended periods.
