Taking on the Taylor Twins

Jack, I think I said this before but it would be fun to tag along with you on your journeys:cool::thumbup:

We have similar interests other than cutlery as well. Compasses, coins, hand tools, shears/scissors, safety and straight razors, lighters etc...

Wow Jack so many nice ones , so little time .
Those Twin Taylors are going to be so nice when you get them done , I can hardly wait for you to show them again .
Good luck with the big job my friend.

Harry

I have one of those Silvas somewhere -must be 40yo.
A quick search of RITA acronyms reveals a hilarious and interesting array of organisations that may have had something to do with that knife.

:D

I don't know how you could pass these off as "humble!" I would relish to find knives as nice as these... Splendid as always, Jack!

Thanks Ben :)

Jack, you have some amazing artifacts. So many exceptional pieces I can't even choose a favorite. The fabric samples are really interesting, too. I imagine by now you must be close to having a museum's worth of historic Sheffield cutlery.

Thanks Robb :) Err...well even my neighbours are starting to worry about my floor collapsing! :D

That would a great time my friend :) If ever you and Nance get the chance to visit, it'll be an honour to show you around

LOL! :D I've only made a cursory search, but so far I've not turned up anything on Rita which relates to knives. Certainly not English I don't think. I do know a guy who runs a tool stall, with an old girlfriend called Rita, so it might be going his way ;)

Awesome, just awesome, Jack. Thank you for the detailed pictures, I sure do love old tang stamps.

Thanks a lot Jimbo, I've often thought we should have a tang-stamp library here :)

By the way, is Robinson of Sheffield any relation to our Robinson Cutlery Co, now something like Robinson Home Products?

There are several Robinsons in the historic Sheffield cutlery trades, but so far as I know, there's no connection

Great showing, Jack! I love seeing that table full of old knives and knick knacks. Those Rule Knives are neat little creatures. I love seeing those old Dessert Knives still packaged in the box, too. What a treasure to have found them in such great condition!

A particularly nice assortment of lovelies this time around with a prophetic narrative :D:eek: Another round with the table is a pure joy! Looking forward to the next bout. If the floor holds out...:D;)

Thanks Shawn, it's amazing how much old, boxed cutlery there still is around here. It comes from a time when people put their wedding presents away "for best", or just from when folks looked after things I guess :)

Thanks Gev, to say I haven't been looking, I seem to have found quite a lot! :D

As always, great to see your recent and varied acquisitions. Thanks for posting.

Thank you my friend

I'd be sleeping on the couch if I left all that on my kitchen table. Although, it might be worth it...

Great pile of knives, and good info to go along with it!

Jack, after receiving your amazing pm, I had to pop in here, I struggle to find time lately to read the threads that I want to - still working on that one - in saying that I am in Aussie all week next week for a full on week of Training etc -Whew!

Thanks Glenn :) Oh, I can relate to that! :D I live on my own these days, but I've started putting some of my finds in a shoe-box between cleaning sessions ;)

Thanks Duncan, it's good to have a big (if younger) brother to step in and take care of those twins for me :D I know you like big Pruners  The Lambsfoot is also going travelling, gotta grow the cult! :D Good luck with the straight my friend, don't lose your head! :D ;)

The History of Sheffield presented by ***JACK"S TABLE*** October 2016 edition.

LOL! I always wanted a time machine Randy! :D

Perhaps you should find out where bedrock is beneath your house? :D So many wonderful things! I need to find a lambsfoot, I've been thinking about a blue pruner(farmers jack ala Lyle), do I could post it in two threads, the day I learn to do pictures  . Maybe I should investigate a blue lambsfoot, if such a rare creature exists. Love these threads , sir, always learning summat knew.
Thanks, Neal
Post script-the other thread of course being P's blue thread.

Thanks Neal, may all your dreams come true ;)
