I would have to agree, I have loved collecting snakes for such a long time. But I think lots of the deaths we hear about here is people killing them because it is too close to where people live. Well I would hope so. And it is true, if you read the stats, most people are bitten when they are trying to kill the snakes. They usually only attack when they feel they are in danger.
Once again you're showing you don't know much about snakes in the south. They both do spend most of their time in water and moccasins are one of the most aggressive animals I've ever come across. They weren't to bad in Ky. where I grew up but while working as a nuisance gator trapper in Fl. I learned to fear them way more than the gators. I've seen them come across 20 to 30 yds of open water to go after someone. They get huge and mean in the heat and the swamps. They are one of the only animals I kill on the spot.
