Job's been rough lately, and I really needed a time out. So I packed my bag and went out for an overnighter, I decided to take some photos aswell. I like documenting my trips, it makes it easier to remember locations, weather and what gear I used. This time I thought I might share it with the becker forum, as the BK9 and the BK13 were my two only companions for the trip.
I just bought a brand new Vulture II from Maxpedition. I'm not a minimalist camper, and I like to stuff my bags full. I justify it with "this is the only workout I get", but I really just like to haul my stuff around. The Vulture was new, but it was too small. I wished I'd brought the regular 100 liter frame backpack instead. But I managed.
Here's some photos from my hike. I walked about 20 kilometers in mountain terrain.
My destination, a small lake about 800 meters above sea level.
After I found my camp site, I went out to collect fire wood. As you can see, the trees in my region are few and far between, so it was a long walk to collect enough for a night.
I hauled the wood back to my camp site, and started to process it. Every time I unsheat the BK9 and start chopping, I silently thank Ethan Becker for creating such an awesome tool.
Camp, fire and then: FOOD! I love some beef, potato and carrot stew. Lots of salt and pepper. It's the feast for champions.
And of course, a dramatic picture of the BK9
The grey morning after, was full of rain and fog. But I had got some peace of mind alone in the mountains.
That's my little overnighter, thanks for looking.
