That is bizarre!

I have an old-style Wave (before the bit driver and bits) and I always thought if it had blades made of one of the "super steels," it would be pretty hard to beat as a folding EDC. D2, S30V, or VG10, and I'd be pumped! But damascus?!?!? That's just too weird! ;)

Yeah - kind of like sinking diamonds into an axe head :D

(or perhaps diamonds on the soles of your shoes - Paul Simon)

The expression I'm most fond of is "like a diamond stuck in a goat's @ss."

Kinda makes me wonder what one made by Ariel Salaverria would look like. Hmmmmm.

$500, wow

I saw that at one of the on-line retailers. I guess they figured if the Buck 110 is a classic and people will pay a premium for a custom, they could do the same.

Unfortunately, as nice as damascus is and as useful as Leatherman tools are, its a modern version of the Cadillac Cimeron or the Lincoln Versailles.

Now a gold plated one to go with the gold plated Desert Eagle, AK-47 and MP-5... :D:p

Lolz. You speak truth, my man. Although, I humbly submit that this would more accurately resemble the Cadillac Catera ("The Caddy that Zigs!")- IE- the answer to the unasked question.

My response to this- why? Damascus is for pimped out gentleman's folders. It offers very little in the way of a performance boost to the regular Wave steel. A standard wave with an S30V steel master blade would be boss (like the option they have with the Skeletool). Just making the main blade damascus and keeping the rest the same is kind of like putting a top hat on a guy wearing overalls.

Now an entire Wave made out of damascus for $500- that would be pimptastic!

That's pretty funny. Kind of defeats the purpose of a Leatherman 'working tool', but I guess therein lies the gimmic eh?

Looks good but I am happy with my SOG. Unless it can cook my dinner or handle me in the bedroom I wouldnt pay $500 lol. Hey Scott how about making us a multi tool. ;)

No chance. I don't really ever plan on doing folders. I made one folder and that was enough for me.
I love my Wave but that's a bit over the top for me too. It would be like getting a damascus ratchet set. :D
