Talk me into Buying a Arctic Fox stone.

I've been looking at this stone for a little while and just haven't seen much on this stone. If you have one, I would appreciate a little brief review or opinion. Thanks in advance!!

I like the American style stone. It's my favorite travel/field stone. American made, inexpensive, effective and sold by a forum member... what's there to consider?

As the producer of them, I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have. But I'm sure you're looking for opinions from other folks, so I'll let them speak their mind unless there's any questions specifically for me. :)

Will you be offering the Manticore stone in the American mold/shape?

Eventually, but the abrasive file is nearly identical and the "teeth" of it assist in breaking in the as-pressed surface nicely by reducing contact area, thereby increasing point pressure. At some point down the road I plan on having a die made to mold stones shaped like the abrasive file with a smooth surface so that lenticular-sectioned bar stones can be made in the Bull Thistle and Arctic Fox series as well. Both the lenticular cross section and rounded rectangular section varieties were once commonplace as American pattern scythe stones, so they're two shapes that are both considered as American-style scythe stones. :)

Oh, that's great. I didn't see the abrasive file at first. Had to search for it. Guess I can add that to the list for my next purchase.

I got an Arctic Fox Scythe Stone with the Manticore Abrasive File.
I am very impressed with both stones and am looking to get an Arctic Fox American Scythe Stone next.
These are really great stones!:thumbsup:

My wife had thoroughly decimated our kitchen knives and I remembered I had an American Mutt bench stone and an Arctic Fox field stone. Between the two I only needed 3-5 min a knife, and we are taking DULL, to get things sharp again. I see an Arctic Fox bench stone in my future.

I will be watching this, I want one. Especially if I can just cruise down to the island to get it.

As long as I'm given advance notice of a date and time range to expect ya', an in-person pickup can be scheduled.

I just got the Arctic Fox American Scythe Stone, together with two other BYXCO stones: another Manticore File and an American Mutt Bench Stone.
Great function and value!
