Talk me out of A new knife ZT909/099BW

I recently picked up an early Spyderco Police stainless from a User here, and have a Military on its way from here too. The bug is strong now and I really want a ZT 909. It is the only ZT besides the 095bw that has ever made me look twice. I do not like when knives have a presentation side that is not identical to the reverse so these are the two models I want. I am strongly leaning towards the 909 as it will retire my beloved Manix 2 xl for daily use. I am aware of the weight, but I am manly man and can handle it. Hehe. Anybody who has and carries it please let me know what they are like. Thanks!

The 909 may be the most we'll rounded hard use folder I own.

It's a smooth flipper with a firm lock up. It takes a great edge and holds it. The blade has plenty of belly and lots of tip for diner work.

About the only negative it has, and this is personal preference, is that it may be a bit thick in the grip compared to other ZTs that sport a frame lock and the scales are super grippy so drawing it isn't as smooth.

However, it may be my favorite folding knife. I really need to get a 900 to go with it for when a nearly 4" blade is just a bit too much.

What I want to hear.

I love my 0909. It's my most carried work knife (as long as you exclude my multitool) and I use the snot out of it. It's performed and held up splendidly for my needs. I'm certainly not going to try to talk you out of one if it looks like it will suit you. I say give it a try.

you can also buy them from a dealer who has different scales for them, I got blue frag g10, it turned out to be one of my favorite knives to carry, before it was offered in the blue I had written it off. glad I wound up getting it its kind of like a more civilized zt 0200.

Can you pm me the name of the dealer that has those?

yup I saw it too,im telling you this knife with those blue frag g10 scales is one of the best carry knives ; I have a vacation house down south and I take it with me every time.even though its a bit more than the standard one its worth it. to make it even better,i got a pair of blue standoffs to match the scales which really put it over the top.I hate black g10 and wasn't going to even look at this knife, but when I saw that blue frag I had to have it.Ive had this for a year now luckily they still offer those scales.
