The ZT bug has bit me and won't let go :D but I am having a problem deciding on what one to get. The 0301 and 0302 were my first choices but now I see the 0300 and everyone keeps raving about the 0200, so what do I do?

You have got to own the 0200 once in your life. It's one solid knife, tough as hell. It's hard to believe Kai USA could sell this knife for so cheap. Get it you will not be disappointed!

Talk me out of a ZT!?

Do you know where you are?

Most of use here have Kai addiction, it's more like a support group.:D

The only thing holding me back on the 200 is the 154cm blade steel because I have had some knives with that steel that performed ok and others that went dull in the first cut. The things that appeal to me about the 300 series is the frame lock, S30V steel, and the AO but it seems that everyone is getting a 200 and I wonder if that's just because of the price?

I know, I just cant think of any reason not to get one. :p

Every year I seem to pick a new knife company to spend my money with and this year its kershaw.

300 series If you rough and tumble with it in your pocket you may accidently trigger it's assisted opening feature causing the blade to open and slice your balls off inside your pants.

That should be some food for though however I love the 300 series. The 200 series is manual and said to be top quality at a low price.

No.

But Shawn B is correct. Try a 0200. Kershaw nailed the HT on this steel. I think I've had to sharpen mine 3 or 4 times in 2 years. Fantastic edge retention! And a slick flipper!

No

Start with the 200 then the 500. Then the 300 or 301 or 302..... Oh shucks just get em all :)

Coming from someone who is not a fan of assisted openers and liner locks, the fit finish and quality of ZT/Kershaw knives has caused me to to overlook these and make exceptions since the knives are too well made at the price point to pass up.

that's most likely the out come but for now it can be only one.

Thanks SPX, good steel with a proper heat treat is one of the main things I look at in a knife.

OK, I have narrowed it down to the 0300 or the 0200KW. Price not being a issue what would you pick?

[...] it seems that everyone is getting a 200 and I wonder if that's just because of the price?
I don't think it's because of the price; I actually prefer the 0200 over the 0300 because of its aesthetics. Ideally, I'd love to see a variant of the 0200 design with a titanium frame lock, regardless of price (well, okay, not regardless...you know what I mean ;) ).

I was thinking knifeworks.com anyplace better/cheaper?

What are some of the things you like more about the 200?

For me it fits better in my pocket. I can still get my hand in there if I need change! The grip feels more comfortable in my hand, too. And even tho its a big honkin knife, the flipper works great. Locks up with a solid "twack"!

Fine I'll talk you out of it. I wouldn't buy any of those.

I'd get an 0500 first :D

Knifenut, I wouldn't talk you out of it even if I could. They are just too good. Start off with a 0200. See if you don't become overwhelmed by the knife, the value, construction, ergonomics etc.

Then, one of the S30 models, or the 0100 fixed blade in 3V.

ZT really has something special going. Joe

I just like the design of the 0200 better. As I said, I'd love to see it with a Ti frame lock, but its liner lock is massive, and therefore certainly not a deal-breaker.
