d2 is barely not stainless. i wouldn't be too worried about rust.

they are on closeout at the spyderco site. i say get it.

And what a deal! I pulled the trigger on two at that price so I have three now. One is a user. Free shipping at that

I just picked up a S30V Paramilitary and it immediately became my EDC knife. I read article after article about the D2 version and how I should get one before they are gone. The reason I started with the S30V version is that I do a lot of hunting and fishing so the knife will get wet often. We also get our fair share of rain and snow here in Michigan. I am also the type that just wants to swipe the knife across my jeans after use, fold in up, and slide it back into my pocket. If I do this with D2 I fear it will show rust/pitting on the blade. Is it ok not to get the D2, or will I kick myself later?

I use mine for food prep a lot, no issues at all, I treat it the same as stainless.

I just ordered the D2 Para from the Sypderco site. The combination of the sale price, all the great comments found here on BF, and the fact that I need a little color in my collection, was just too much. Now I am anxious for it to arrive. Thanks again.
