Talk some sense into me

Just use it! You know you want to;) Here's my 2 main users. I have about $800 into the pair :o

Make a list then check it twice.

That's what I do.

One large, one medium, one small, those are the users.

The rest can sit in the safe.

Cept for the loaner knives.

I think the lesson here is to buy them from the store, not the secondary market. But we all face that. I'm looking for a ST Ripper, that will probably cost me a LOT more than I could have had one a while back. Live and learn. As to your $450 FSH, that's probably about what it's worth, those who got one earlier just got a discount. You haven't done poorly. But if you sell it because it can bring you $475 to buy Christmas presents, what're you gonna use in the woods? Will it be as good? Will it be better? Or will it cost you $300 and not be as good? If you're looking at what may be a marginal cost of $150, is your marginal benefit more or less than $150? And will the other knife maintain it's value after it's been used?
I'm pretty sure you've got a winner there.

I love my one of 49 SHSH, and use it every chance I get.

...

Nice knife, 360joules! :)

This is the first I've heard of a 1 of 49 SHSH. Were there only 49 diagonal cut? Or is it something different?

Either way, mine's a safe queen. ;)

:D :D

:D :D

Curious also. Have one like that with the High Desert Low ride sheath, but prefer the chunky, smooth micarta version better.

No problem using either, but the smooth micarta gets interesting chopping in 95 deg heat in So Fl. LOL

Usually grab the Camp Tramp before the SHSH goes sailing on a back swing.

Only happened once, but once was enough when it sailed over to where my my wife was catching some rays.

BOY !!!! All the fuss you think I drew blood or something!

No sense of humor at all!

I was told here on the boards that the diagonal SHSH numbered about 49... so I thought I would perpetuate the rumor... :D

And, mine is a user, defender, tool and companion.

I don't think that the smooth black coat and diagonal cut micarta SHSH's are the ones you are thinking of.
I do believe that the diamond quilted handles are the rare and last of the original run SHSH.
50 with black crinkle coat and 50 satin finished.

I heard it on the corner and mom read it in the paper so it must be true.

How come we never get to see any shots of them being actually used?

Good question. . .

The answer is probably because my camera doesn't share the Busse Warranty :D, I don't have a decent case for it & I don't like to have the thing flopping around my neck.

Someday. . .:o

here is my hh user(was new)
we cut down 2 10-14 inch trees with it(not the stump the knife is in)
the guys with me thought i was nuts, then they wanted a whack, then they wanted to cut down another tree, etc......

Mulder,

I do not currently own any Loaner Straight Handled Badgers, I ended up giving all but one away and I sold that one to a Member of this forum.

My Current Badgers are all Safe in the Safe at this time.

Currently as Loaners I have a couple Straight Battle Mistress's a Straight Steel Heart,an A-2 Mean Street, a couple of Basic #9s, a Basic#5, a Basic#3.

I loan these to mostly Teeners who go Camping, or out into the woods with me and my kids, along with Axes, entrenching tools, Backbacks and tents and such.

I don't have any expensive users. I just stock them up in my safe and use my Frost and United Cutlery knives instead.
