I took one of these on a trade and I was thinking I would sell it, but.... it just feels good in the hand for some odd reason! I think I may keep it as my main woods/hunting knife!! I'm not sure I like the tan handle color, but the sage? blade coating sure looks nice. The knife just feels good!!!

Do any of you use one of these for hunting deer size game and also use one for your woods/camping all round type knife?

I'm really trying to talk myself into keeping it...

Did I mention it just feels good for some reason??

It's the modern Busse version of the Randall #25. Honestly. Weight, balance, feel, length. All very similar. OK, the #25 might be a bit lighter, but not much.

Jon, I think you'll find that despite Jerry's obvious disdain for the blade, it has a LOT of fans here. Supposedly a hell of a knife. Matteo has even called it the new ABA. That's saying a lot.

It would need a little nicer looking handle to be the new ABA! But..... ugly colored handles aside, I just love the way it feels in my hand. To be honest, I picked it up to make new photo's to list it for sale tonight.... and I just can't... back on the shelf it went. I think I'm gonna get a LH sheath for it and USE it awhile and make sure how I feel after that. It has a special feel to it.

I would LOVE and ABA, but man.... the prices of those things are N U T S*!

those are worth a meeelion dollars now, not many made and i have seen about 20 ground to pieces.

.

There were five variations made.

It's gunna bug me if I don't ask; if they are the same blade, what is the difference between the "ABA" and the SAR5?

Matteo has even called it the new ABA.

I don't know if I ever called it the new ABA, but I do like it better than the BAIII's that I've had! For me it feels much more ergonomic, and I like the down-swept handle and lack of choil.

It's basically the knife that sits on the kitchen counter now, or I grab to take with me in the car.

I think it's a great knife design, and it's INFI.

Ahhh...my bad, homie. :foot: I tend to do that sometimes. When I think BAIII, for some reason my mind always goes to ABA. I guess that's just the iteration of that knife that does it for me. My apologies.

Wow. The more I think about it, the more I almost (ALMOST) wish I saved my black/black and ground down the scales.

I'd love to on my green/orange one, but I LOVE the look of it right the way it is. I'd hate to lose that pattern. I think a slightly smaller (and lighter) handle WOULD make it the in-between blade from ABA to SJ.

OTOH, I've got a good-shape BA3, so do I REALLY need another knife??? LOL

Really, what is not to like for a non-combat utility blade?

-Great blade length for an EDC
-Clip point for penetration
-No choil, for precise control
-No matter what anyone says, the handle does NOT feel like a claw-hammer,(in fact it's extremely comfortable) unless you have tiny hands.
-The down-swept handle is an improvement on ergonomics for push-cutting.
