My Talon came a week ago - Will, you'all did a really wonderful job with it - I can't believe how well you translated Rob's design & craftsmanship into a production piece. The workmanship is definately up to the same standard as my Cetan of Rob's - very impressive that nothing seems to have suffered(after a week's carry & use) in the conversion to production. I'll try to get a review written after I've had a chance to use it some more. Only two functional differences I can find: 1) G-10 versus Micarta handles(I like Rob's Micarta handles better, though your G-10 are nice & work great), 2) your edge is ground a little thinner which makes for a wickedly sharp blade though I would be a little more careful with cutting hard materials. The sheath is absolutely first rate and was worth the wait - there are few other knives, custom or production, with a sheath that nice.

As you can tell I like it as LOT! I am looking forward to MANY years of use - it certainly did a good job the first week!

Bill, glad you like the Talon, and its good to hear you agree that Camillus did a great job following the design. A side note, I do them in all different handle materials, and use a lot of G-10. (You just happened to get a Micarta one) See you at Blade Bill!

My Talon is the perfect small belt knife for 99% of my uses. It shines for skinnning, utility, even in the cucina.

The drop point blade is perfectly shaped for fine work as well as tougher chores. the fine satin finish is easy to clean and enhances cutting efficiency.

An ergonomic handle, and a handformed Blade Tech sheath complete a very classy package.

A very impressive knife from one of our oldest, and best factories.

Kudos to Camillus!!!!!!

Thanks to John (Cumberland Cutlery) I got my Talon yesterday. Very nice knife

I have been a long time fan and admirer of Rob Simonich´s work and finally I could get knife of my dreams (made of dream materials as well). I see no difference between the custom and the production piece (well I did not handle the custom yet - but I have tons of pictures

). I think that this is the best looking knife I have ever seen and Camillus made a great job.

The only thing I do not really like is the Tech Lock. For my purposes I would like to have only simple kydex belt clip (as it is on Boker Specialist or CRKT Stiff Kiss). I am sure that the lock is functional and useful device but for me it is just too thick.

Anyway... I am glad I have the knife and the testing has just begun

I got my first Talon today at the Blade Show from 1SKS, and it is a great knife. But, don't take my word for it, buy one.

Rob Simoniich is a super guy. Talon I bought from MIke Tuber was loose in the sheath. The Camillus people & Blade Tech people couldn't have moved any faster to retify the problem. My Talon purchase goes in the "Money well spent" Column.

I picked my Talon up from 1SKS at the Blade Show as well. (Wonderful Knife and helping to support this site is an awesome deal)

I thoroughly enjoyed talking to Rob and I am definitely looking forward to my custom after a couple days with the Camillus version.
