question--couldnt/wouildnt it work better if you could make some sort of jig to use with your vise to apply the tang stamp. To me hammering it seems risky! I know the sell those tang stamp holders--so the tang stays put while you hammer it--but why couldnt you use a vise type get up?---thanks--mark

Thanks for the info. Have you tried to get a quote from a place like Henry A Evers Corp that makes stamps regularly?

I had one made by them and it looks and works great,much cheaper than any local maker down under.
The holder they make for it is a bit pricy so I made my own.
