Tang Stamp

I've never seen a Busse with any type of tang stamp, etching, or any other sort of brand identification. Why is that? I realize that some makers believe that a stamp will weaken or compromise the structural integrity of the blade, but there are other ways to mark a blade.

It just seems unusual that the maker of arguably the best knives in the world is perhaps the only one not to put his signature, mark, or brand on the product...

I was just asking another member who lives close by the same thing.

I know that after putting so much work into something and having such a good reputation, I would sign it....

Will is right. All of Jerry's knives are sterile (no identification for military purposes). As for a signature, the talon hole just below the finger guard has become his signature. Hope this helps.

The sterility answers are correct...in addition, on most of the knives, there is a mark under the handle which Busse can read and use to identify the knife as an authentic Busse Combat Knife should the need ever arise.

There is also something coming in the near future which folks might like if they don't like the sterile factor...more on this in a "what's new" post later tonight.
