What size lettering would you guys recommend for my tang stamp that I'm ordering from Henry Evers? I make only fixed blade knives for now with an average blade size of 3-5". Thanks in advance.

I etch mine also using stencils from Ernie Grospitch (think I spelled it right.) Can't beat his prices or service.

For what Evers gets for a stamp, go with an inexpensive etcher. If you insist on a stamp buy one from Uncle Al at Riverside Machine. Every bit as good at one third the price.

If you have a knife ready for the stamp just measure out the area for the stamp and write it down on paper they will need to the type of character you are wanting. You can described the character high and width of the stand. They do this all the time and I know you will be happy with there work. :D

If you fine time just click on my website and see the one they made for me. Every stamp is different and dimensions will very from one knife to another. But that's something you will be to know. I have order 3 stamps total and will be ordering a fourth stamp that is in script typed. The height of the characters will determined the stamp size. :)

Hope this was of help and if you want to you can call me on the phone. I maybe able to go over it with in better detail. And welcome to Bladeforums where great people come together. Merry Christmas, New Year to you and your family.

I would try printing off the font in different sizes and seeing how it suits.
