Well, it depends on which 3 line marking. The Camillus, New York, USA markings started 1946. The four line markings started 1919 (according to Goins). Before that, there were different 3 line markings, Camillus, Cutlery Co New York, which look like they started 1902.
I have a sheath knife with 5" blade marked in two line Camillus Cutlery New York. It has a double edge drop point edge and the typical "blood" groove on both sides. This is leather stacked handle and the butt is rounded aluminum with a spanner nut. Can anybody date this knife for me? Is it a prototype? All input is appreciated. PS. the guard is brass. Please respond to flasks2@pennsmart.com or flasks2@comcast.net Thanks, Donald-Ft.Pierce, Fl
