Just put my order in for an LE with all the bells and whistles :D

I want the choil, swedge AND skull crusher

What about you???

I went choil, swedge and skull crusher too. I find a choil very useful.
However, am contemplating getting another w/o choil...and maybe even serrations, which I hadn't considered until tonight.

I generally don't like big choils but I like it better than no choil. Will probably get CG DC or satin with mags swedge and round butt

I am gonna go no choil, no swedge Arctic White with Red G-10 and rounded Butt. This is gonna be a great knife if it lasts long enough on the website for me to order it. I assume you have to have your CC charged up and they take payment right then---Joe

Generally, they will ding your CC when they are ready to ship your knife to you. Usually, you can call and make special arrangements. They're pretty accommodating up there in Waseon.

Arctic white with red G10? You may have to fight Santa Claus for that combination!

I like the red grips but i wanted mags...oh well, the two tone mags have a sorta flame-like grip pattern...Looks sweet!

I got the LE #1 and a CG with satin finish and Black Paper. I love the Swedge, Choil and skullcrusher so that was it for me!! I'm one happy hog!!

Gotta go with number #1...wait...I also went with #2...and about 5 CG so far...

I am in alot of trouble:eek:

Jerry I will be working for free for the next 3 months or so:):)

cause you know once I see all of the different combo's I will have to get those also....

This is gonna be crazy:)

Amy-O, yes this is gonna be crazy..very big deal with the options and buzz over it. I am glad they are all based on a good design platform: Tank Buster is gonna make history is my prediction. Moonwilson, I would fight Santa Claus for it but then he wouldn't be for bringing me any more INFI goodness :D I think the red would look good with Satin too...maybe even better, but I am all set without waving back and forth at all the possibilities. This will be my signature option set and if it is still around the middle of September I am so ordering this puppy! What is the most fun though is all this back and forth discussion about the Tank Busters. I like seeing everyone's comments and imput, makes it alot more enjoyable---Joe

ok, I have a question about the choil vs no choil. what is the main purpose of having a choil? I know the bigger choils on the big blades are there for your index finger for choking up, but what about the smaller blades with choils such as the AD,MS and GWs and why do these have choils at all?? I mean you can't put your finger in there, and the only reason I guess the ADs and such have one is for easier sharpening closer to the handle??? So, basically I'm wondering other than these two reasons for a choil, is there any scientific reason (such as strength on the plunge line?) for having one???? I would think the blade would be stronger/stiffer laterally and overall with no choil because you don't remove all that metal. I've always wanted my AD to have a much smaller choil and more blade where the choil is, and have always wondered why such a big choil on such a small blade. I'm sure someone here knows the reason for having them or not?????? Just trying to make up my mind on the Tankbuster with choil or without. Help, anybody know, Boss Hogg, Garth, Amy-O, other knifemakers:confused::confused:

My first Busse, I went Desert Sage, Black and Tan, Choil, Plain,Swedge and Skull Crusher. I'm sure I'll be happy, just hard waiting for it.

I wasn't gonna order one but I am weak. Here's what I went with: no choil, skull crusher, satin, black paper, heavy swedge.

i'm fairly certain that the small choils are only for sharpening ease

I too got the Model 1 W/ the choil & swedge, but I am having a heck of a time deciding on my CG version. Choil or no choil...:confused::mad: The CG will be my user / woods running knife....

I've always thought that the choil allows you to choke up close to the blade with your grip to allow for more intricate cutting.

I guess it also allows more room beteween the scales and blade to allow for easier sharpening

A choil also gives you a little safety zone ahead of the handle. Most knives don't have much in the way of a finger guard these days. Useful if you spaz out once in awhile.

On my Spyderco Military folder, the choil will drop on your thumb instead of the edge if you push the blade down too fast while disengaging the liner lock. Sweet.
