Tank Buster Finish Flaking off?

After opening enough cans with my Scrapyard SOD about half an inch of coating has chipped off on one side, the other side is wearing smoothly.
IMO if the tip is chipping now it'll probably keep on chipping. If it bothers you take up the offer and send the knife in, otherwise just keep beating it till there's no coating left.

Since it's a user, I would PERSONALLY just keep it and not have to send my knife out. I know my ASH is going to look ridiculous within a few more weeks of heavy use. When it gets bad enough, i'll strip it.

It does'nt look like normal wearing to me...there is'nt the flattening of the coat to go with the usual removal on the point from sticking it...it looks like it has "flaked" off...

If you want to strip it that's not an issue...

If you intend to keep the coating and to use the knife for food prep or meat work I would send it in...

Not sure, but the finish on my CGFBM just wore down smooth, never chipped and I re profiled the edge to a 40 degrees.

Haven't pounded on my TB yet, maybe today if I have some time.

It will be okay.....we will get it back to you as soon as we can:):)

LMAO...
I'm not worried, but wierd... Busse has this hold over me.
I'm now thinking of getting a second TB as a back up...
Hmmm... I'm telling ya.... Busse=Addiction.
