No snapshots yet, but I hope to have some by the weekend. :o

Anyway, my initial impressions of the Tank Buster include that it seems to combine attributes of many of my favorite Busse Combat knives, specifically the BATAC, SJTAC, and SFNO. It has the BATAC/SJTAC handle, which I have grown to prefer. Something about the blade reminds me of the SFNO.

my fiance took my camera out with her and i just got the package....

rich

have no fear,
the tankbusta be here!!

and its puuuurty! its sitting next to me on the couch watchin some tv!

I got mine yesterday and I like it more than I do my SAR 4!! I really like the feel of this knife, very comfortable in my hand.

i totally agree....it feels like jerry snuck in my house while i was sleepin and took a mold of my hands and then used that to create the magnum grips:eek:

I love the TB, awesome knife...but I felt like the mags were pretty flat compared to what I was expecting, actually thought I may have gotten standards by mistake.Don't get me wrong, it feels great in the hand, just flatter that I expected. Anyway, it's quickly becoming one of my favorite Busses ever.

It is definitely a different style than say, an ASH1 or SFNO mag, without a doubt. But when I got my first SJTAC I couldn't understand why everybody bagged on the TAC handle so much, cause I loved it. In fact the SJTAC became one of my favorite blades, so I am really looking forward to the TB.

Bumping this.

Any other thoughts on the TB? Likes dislikes?

How do you guys like it compared to the ASH and NMSFNO?

I'm getting a hankering to order one now that I now they are gone soon...

I just love the way the TB feels in my hand. Very hefty and solid, but with the standard micarta I can really get a solid hold on it. Something about it fires off the pleasure neurons in my brain.

powernoodle, you wrote:

That probably explains why I decided to order three more of them. Also, the TAC handles have always agreed with me.

Cool guys - thanks.

I was interested in the SJTAC but maybe this will be better...

Can anyone comment if the the standard slabs are similar in thickness to the skinny ash handle thickness? I'm torn on standard vs. mags... ugh.

All of the Skinny ASH1s had Magnum handles. The following photo shows the difference between non-Magnum (left) and Magnum for the ASH1:

The difference between Magnum and non-Magnum for the TAC handles (used by the BATAC, SJTAC, and Tank Buster) is mainly in overall thickness, as opposed to the thickness at the tube fasteners.

mmmm Busse tail :D

Thanks - that is a perfect picture and it looks like mags are what I want

BTW, your pics blow me away every time - just gorgeous!

Here are the magnum scales on my TB. Very different from the thick, contoured ASH scales. They're a really nice fit...standards would be too thin for me:

wow very different - I liked the palm swells on the ASH... Alright I think it is mags for me

Did you grind off the rear choil of your TB???

Thanks for the pic!

Hmmm, nice catch, but no...I must have been at just of enough angle that the skull crusher disappeared under the handle.

BTW, if you stand by I'll post a pic of it next to an ASH mag handle.
