What do y'all think of using a Tanker A as a knife to use around water. The frontward serrations look like they would be useful on rope and webbing. Your thoughts?

Not all Tanker As had the serrations, plus they are pretty hard to find, I haven't seen one for sale in awhile.

What about the ones with serrations? I do not know if I cannot find one for sale but would like you oppinion on how it would work.

I will try to upgrade to gold membership sometime this week. What do you think of the Tanker A as a knife to be used around water?

I think you should give it a try, and let us know. I doubt anyone has any first hand experience in this.

I will keep my eye out for you. If I see one for sale, I'll let you know.

Peter: My first thought when my SP NARK arrived was that it would be a great boating knife - serrations for rope cutting in exactly the right place, good size, still has a place on the forward top of the blade for batoning, thin enough to clean fish in a pinch, and available now at the Company Store for cosiderably less than a tanker A is going to cost you on the aftermarket.

Thanks so much. That is an excelent idea. Why didn't I think of that? I will check the company store. Again, thanks.

Peter,

I thought we had come to an understanding on the bouncy badger avatar.:grumpy:

Great, now we have a tick. I see enough of those on my dogs, one in particular that seems to be a tick magnet no matter what. Guess she's just tastier than the male.

I have a Tanker, but it's a PE, so can't help you there. I think if I wanted serrations I'd get something cheap like a full serrated Spydie and use that.

IIRC the serrations on the NARK are more for cutting through aluminum than rope and such. It may work though, give it a shot.

My Tanker A has become my EDC lately. Easy to conceal (Even in a t-shirt), and a perfect utility knife to boot. I can’t say enough great things about this knife. :)

Thanks. What do you find the serrations most useful for?
