This tanto was an idea I came up with for a mix between a traditional Japanese tanto and an American style handle. The point has slight drop to it, and it is flat ground from 5/32" D-2 by Madpoet Custom Knives. I did the finish work, again, as well as the etch, which is Japanese Yume, meaning "Dream". The blade bent in heat tretment, so Madpoet made Tanto #2 and sent it to me. This one has granadillo wood scales that I finished with mosaic pins of my own creation.

The pins are black epoxy with brass and copper tubing and rods.

The problem is,that it is very hard to find the materials for these pins in Denmark. The hardware stores dont sell the small tubes and rods anymore - guess nobody wanted them - so I'll have to buy lenghts of at least 4 yards of each needed size, or order them from Sweden, not knowing if they will fit.

The nearest good hobbystore is 65 miles from where I live, and I've never been there, but a visit has been planned for a while know.
I like your pins a lot, but I have this idea of making my own stuff as far as possible.
Nothing wrong with the quality of those pins.

They look okay, but they are heat-sensitive more than I would like. I used model paint made by Testor's for the color and I think it thins the epoxy a bit. I left that #2 tanto in the car on a hot day and it melted the epoxy pretty nicely in the pins enough that I had to resand the surface and refinish it. Maybe that's normal, though...
