Hello, My name is Chris Tidwell. I was trained by Jimmy Fikes. I am currently making knives using the methods that he taught me. No knife leaves the shop without being tested for sharpness and strength. I have Tanto #7 made from 1095. 8" blade, 13 3/4" overall, 1/4" thick. No sheath. $450 + $25 for shipping Fedex Ground. I take checks or Paypal with added fees. SOLD. Thank you.

I saw Chris at Blade this year cutting through 500 page paperback books with those.....with one push!!!

Great performance to go with that great look. :)

I think I must be even more confused than usual. This appears to be a knife you made in my shop prior to the Blade Show this year, using my materials, my machinery in addition to my methods. And unless you've set up shop somewhere in the past two or three months (after leaving in a huff when you were asked to pay the kingly sum of $125 a month for use of the shop and machinery, and 1/3 of the electric bill there all of which I've paid for the last three years while teaching you), then you aren't "currently" making them anywhere. Same goes for the other knives posted recently.

I do find it interesting that you're posting in the knifemaker's market now although it was a year ago that I suggested you do so in order to build up your own customer base instead of selling to mine. Having trouble moving the work, are you? Maybe I can help. The knife is a good one ladies and gentlemen.

Thanks,

Jimmy Fikes

Why are you using the forum to argue about personal stuff? Why don't you just quit and let the man sell his knives! This is totally unprofessional.

The knife on this page as well as the other knives I have posted recently were made by me in Jimmy Fikes shop, using his equipment, tools and methods and my materials. I have known Jimmy for over 20 years. Jimmy was kind enough to teach me to make knives for 3 years, for which I am thankful. Jimmy's wife Maggie, her friend Dorothy and I were making knives under Fikes II up until the first of August. I decided to part ways with Jimmy and to leave Fikes II. The knives are not being sold under Fikes II going foward. I am in the process of building my own shop. I have several knives including this one that I made in Jimmy's shop left over which I am selling. I am in no way whatsoever taking credit for the design, or misrepresenting anything of the sort.
Thank you,
Chris Tidwell
