Tanto Blade Design Change Question

I have recently aquired an EBT with conventional
hollow grind blade.
I have noticed that the line from back or the spine
of the blade to the tip is rounded, just like spear
point blades.
I am aware that transition from hollow grind to flat
grind is under process but I was under an impression
that the tanto design had been altered simultaneously
to meet this change in blade grinding. However, if the
design change was done previous to the grind change,
I am curious to know why and what are the merits of
changing the blade back design?
I personally liked the old design.

There are a few reasons.
The main reason was that we wanted blade interchangeability. For instance. We want all of the EB series of knives to fit into the same sheath. This way, when you are changing your mission profile, and your gear needs to change, you simply yank out the old and stuff in the new.

It is stronger as well.
No, it doesn't suffer in penetration.

Talk to you soon

Mick

Thank you for your reply, Mick.

For a moment I thought I had a very rare
hybrid transition model!

:D
