I personally prefer tanto style blades, thou I got use to using them thus how to make use of both edges and tips. But it really depends on you, because if your not use to handling a tanto shaped blade it will be awkward at first. Also the tips on tanto are generally stronger than normal blade shapes, typically because of the blade thickness, grind, and sharp angles all giving the tip strength and piercing capability.
My advice is order from a online place with a return policy and see if you like it or not, that way you don't waste ay or much money if it's not for you.
